The poster of The First Slam Dunk

In 4th grade, I began to read and collect comic books. One of my absolute favorites was "Slam Dunk" by Takehiko Inoue. Surprisingly, I wasn't initially interested in basketball, but this comic introduced me to the world of the sport. I was captivated by the characters, the storyline, and the artwork. I laughed and cried my way through the entire collection, which concluded in 1996.

Fast forward 26 years, and “The First Slam Dunk movie finally hit the screens. I was eagerly looking forward to it, even though I had to wait eight long months to see it in California. Nonetheless, I was immensely grateful for the opportunity to watch it in a theater.

One of my most favorite collections :)

Steven and I were particularly thrilled that the movie focused on Ryota Miyagi, the point guard of Shohoku. The story was brought to life with beautiful visials and fantastic soundtrack. Time seemed to fly by as we followed Ryota's journey, and we were deeply moved by the film, so much so that we couldn't bring ourselves to leave our seats after it ended.

Watching the movie brought back a flood of nostalgia for my childhood and teenage years. I felt incredibly fortunate to have experienced the 1990s with "Slam Dunk" comics and to now witness its cinematic adaptation. I'm eagerly looking forward to the release of The Second Slam Dunk movie in the near future.
