The Broad

Thursday. September 26. 2024

One of my favorite places to visit regularly is The Broad, a contemporary art museum in Downtown Los Angeles. The building itself is stunning, with its unique honeycomb-like exterior that always catches my eye. On Thursday evening, Little Kong and I decided to spend some time exploring the museum's impressive collection. They have a wide range of artworks, from famous pieces that are always on display to exciting new additions.

“Purist Still Life” by Roy Lichtenstein

“Untitled (White Riot)” by Robert Longo

“Balloon Dog (Blue)” by Jeff Koons

“Untitled” by Kerry James Marshall

“Portrait of Malak Lunsford II” by Kehinde Wiley

“When all is lost, who do you run to?” by Amani Lewis

“African’t” by Kara Walker

“Titi in Window,” “Thomas,” and “Jay with Bike” by John Ahearn and Rigoberto Torres

Unfortunately, we couldn't get a spot to see Kusama’s Infinity Mirrored Room—The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away because it was fully booked, which was a bit disappointing. However, there were plenty of other fascinating pieces to admire. We were captivated by vibrant new paintings and thought-provoking installations that sparked interesting conversations. I love how each visit feels fresh and inspiring, as there’s always something new to see or experience. The Broad never fails to leave a lasting impression, and I always walk away feeling inspired and connected to the world of modern art.
