When I was planning my trip to Portland, I was thrilled to discover that The Portland Art Museum would be hosting an exhibition, “Guillermo del Toro: Crafting Pinocchio.” This exhibition had previously been showcased at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, so I felt incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to see it during my visit to Portland. The exhibition was located on the first floor of the Museum’s main building, and it immediately captivated me as soon as I entered. At the entrance, there were posters from Guillermo del Toro's various movies, setting the stage for what lay ahead.
As I explored the exhibition, I was transported into Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio universe. It featured an impressive array of creatures, iconic set pieces, and captivating visual and sound elements from the animation. I was particularly thrilled to examine the intricate details of everything on display, making me feel like I had stepped right into the enchanting world of Pinocchio's animation. The exhibition offered so many fascinating things to see that I found it hard to tear myself away from this fantastical realm. Each moment was a delightful adventure, and I cherished the opportunity to immerse myself in the magic of Guillermo del Toro's creative vision.
After I had the chance to view "Guillermo del Toro: Crafting Pinocchio" along with the other captivating exhibitions at the Portland Art Museum, I was filled with admiration for the talented artists who had graciously welcomed visitors into their vibrant realms of artistry. This experience became a truly inspiring highlight of my Portland trip, leaving me with a deep appreciation for the creativity and dedication that artists pour into their work.
