Denver Art Museum - Hamilton Building

Wednesday. December 27. 2023

My final adventure of 2023 unfolded as a road trip to Denver, Colorado. Unexpectedly, we had to deviate from the mountain route due to snowfall in the Colorado area during Christmas. After a 17-hour drive to Denver, my first destination was the Denver Art Museum. Conveniently located in downtown Denver, the museum comprised two buildings, Hamilton and Martin, connected by a bridge. The contemporary and sleek design, both outside and inside the museum, immediately caught my eye, heightening my anticipation for the visit.

With the All Access ticket, we delved into diverse exhibits, including “Amoako Boafo: Soul of Black Folks” and “All Stars: American Artists from The Phillips Collection.” The unique exhibitions captivated me, especially the Modern and Contemporary Art, African Art, and Oceanic Art collections. After an unforeseen three hours in the Hamilton building, we decided to refuel with some food before exploring the artistic wonders awaiting us in the Martin building.

Had a break time with coffee and a BLT Sandwich at “Cafe Gio” at the Denver Art Museum :)
